This afternoon (Oct. 15), Ryan and Jill Kelly of Mule Train Records presented a check from Mule Fest for the amount of $2,500 to Bob Sleppy, executive director, and Will Kiser of Nuçi’s Space.

Mule Fest Podcast from Flagpole

Listen to Flagpole Magazine’s first ever podcast inspired by the second annual Mule Fest!

The podcast offers almost 15 minutes of music samples from Ken Will Morton, Adam Payne Band, Lee Boys, Incredible Sandwich, Lefty Williams, Betsy Franck and the Bareknuckle Band, Lefty Hathaway, Half Dozen Brass Band, Young Goodman Brown and Trey Wright with commentary by Michelle Gilzenrat, Flagpole’s music editor.

This is only a sample of the excellent music enjoyed the weekend of August 21 through 23. People who commented on Flagpole’s Web site pointed out some great artists that didn’t make the podcast, including Avery Dylan and Harp Unstrung.

Second Annual Mule Fest Music Festival in August

This year, the 2nd Annual Mule Fest will take place Friday, August 21 through Sunday, August 23 (this is the weekend before the first UGA football game).

Shows will be performed both outdoors and indoors in The Green Room (in the back of the Good Dirt building on Thomas Street).

The Web site, http://mulefest.net, will be up next week with more information.
